Biography

Alan and Faby met in 1986 in Quito, Ecuador. Alan
had just finished his Master's degree in nutrition, and was visiting
Ecuador as a missionary volunteer. Faby, who had served with Campus
Crusade for Christ for over 15 years, had a day care center nearby the
mission hospital. Alan went to "supervise" the nutrition. They were
married five months later. Alan worked as a computer programmer in Quito
for a few years. In 1989 they traveled to Jackson, Mississippi where
Alan earned a Master of Divinity degree at Reformed Theological
Seminary. In 1992 they returned to Ecuador as missionaries with
Global Outreach International.
They founded the Family Bible Church in 1994, and the Jerusalem
Elementary School in 1999. Two years later, God used a special person in
Washington D.C. to provide the funds to buy a six-acre conference center
just outside of Quito. In 2008, the Christian and Missionary
Alliance Church of Quito bought the camp. Since 2004, Alan has been
working on a Ph.D. in missions at Fuller Theological Seminar. Presently
Alan is working with some of the local seminaries teaching missions and
worship.
